First United Church of Christ YOUTH Ministry (Years Of Understanding Through Him)

By grace, we are created, called and chosen as God's children. With Jesus as the head of our church and at the core of our Youth Ministry, our mission is: for our youth to reach all students, to connect them with other Christians, to help them grow in their faith and to challenge their growing to discover their ministry and honor God with their life.

Youth Ministry has become a vital part of the church today. Our goal is to provide a supportive Christian environment where youths can develop spiritually, socially, intellectually, and emotionally, so that they may know Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. It is our desire to see them grow in discipleship. Some of the programs include: swimming parties, pizza parties, campfires, CROP Walk, Operation Christmas Child, event nights, Bible studies, mentoring, and more. Our Youth Ministry desires to integrate youths into the life of the church body, to prepare them to become leaders now and tomorrow in the church and to equip these children of God for the work of His service.

Here at First UCC we take a team approach and we value the active support and involvement of parents and other caring adults who are seeking to positively influence the youth as a foundation for personal friendship and mentoring. Youth Ministry is more than a program. It is a process of spiritual growth.
